The Grafton Cooperative Cheese Company
The Grafton Cooperative Cheese Company was founded in 1892 by dairy farmers who gathered together in a cooperative to make their surplus raw milk into cheese. The natural, healthy qualities of raw milk infuses Grafton Village Cheese products with a creamy, smooth flavor not found in mass-produced cheeses. This is because the company tradition of producing hand-made cheese using premium raw milk from small, local family farms has remained over the years. Grafton Village Cheese is part of the nonprofit Windham Foundation, whose mission is to promote Vermont’s rural communities.
